14th Feb- A day so special; when the heart is worn on the sleeve, Love is professed with flowers & gifts; Cupid will strike home is the belief! When the heart bleeds Red and feelings for beloved come first, It is but natural that sometimes love mixes with lust! Same is with me - I see my Valentine dressed in gorgeous pink, She dazzles; she looks ravishing. She asks," Tell me what do you think?" My thoughts - "How would it feel to unwrap that pink? A color so sweet, seeped in romantic ink. To behold the sight which lies within; Just a knot away from committing a sin! To see my goddess; her curves and skin, Oh, how the heart aches for the forbidden!" Yet I say, "Beautiful! If ever I were to touch and hold you, It would be as gentle and tender as the pink hue!" Such are the complexities in matters of the heart, Sometimes thoughts lie deep within with which we cannot part; Yet love quenches the soul and rides with passion in its fold, Together they gladden the heart; as for truths there are some, which can never be told!
Illustration by Divyasha Thakur. I have used the same in my earlier work titled "Passion" but repeating it here as I am too much in love with it. And also the pink theme of the poem matches with the mood of the art. Divyasha has been an avid lover of art since her early days. It was only during the pandemic she discovered her passion for digital art. The medium and the creativity involved in it, helped soothe her frayed nerves during lockdown which had upended life in umpteen ways.
